We Will Not Be Shaken

"In oceans deep my faith will stand," -Hillsong United. Let Jesus keep your eyes above the waves, all you have to do is keep believing. I have a four word prayer that I repeat over and over again whenever I start to sink. I drown in many things: in school, expectations of myself, the need for perfection, and stress are just a few examples of my constant need for my Savior's strength. But this simple four letter prayer is what keeps me standing in oceans deep. "I trust you Jesus." It's not a question or request. It's a statement of faith. I'm not saying I always get it right and I always stand unshaken. I fail. Everyday. But the process of standing unshaken isn't about failing less, it's about giving up less. Far too often we give up on ourselves and God. Don't give up, keep trying, and bear your cross while you wait for the crown. Through persevering, you'll fail less. We have every reason to stand unshaken because We. Are. Loved by the King of kings. You'll hear me tell you this a lot because this ground-shaking, mind boggling truth is one taken for granted by so many people. How many times have you counted it as bonus blessing? How many times have you ever really thought about it? I'm a sinner. You're a sinner. We're all sinners and completely underserving of God's love or grace. Yet he loves us. Oh how he loves us! Our perfect Lord calls us not by our sin but reaches out and says, "Beloved Child! You. Are. Mine." So when the storms come, lean on him, and stand unshaken. Hear Him whisper, "You are loved. You are mine. I will strengthen you."
